Join the A.T. Committee of the Appalachian Mountain Clubs Berkshire Chapter on Tuesday, July 23 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
and help in restoring the banks of a stream.
Work will include carrying in lumber and constructing bog bridges. Using trail features, such as bog bridges, over streams helps to keep hikers from "tracking" or dipositing soil into the waterways and ultimately diminishing its environmental qualities. The hike to the project site is approximately two miles and is generously flat.
Please be sure to wear long pants and sturdy boots. Bring plenty of water (2-3 liters recommended) and snacks for the day, sunscreen, bug spray, and a rain jacket.
Advanced registration necessary; please use the following form in registering for this event.
