The Appalachian Trail Conservancy and the Southern Appalachian Wilderness Stewards host a day of trail maintenance on the Nantahala Hiking Club section of the A.T.
We will meet at Winding Stair Gap at 10:00 am on Friday, July 26
and head south doing light maintenance along the Trail for 2.5 miles out and back for approximately a 5 mile trip total.
Once the work day is complete, socializing and dining is invited at Lazy Hiker Brewing.
We'll provide tools, work gloves, and other personal protective equipment, like eye protection. Please bring at least 2 liters of water (3 is recommended) and your lunch and snacks for the day. Long sleeves, long pants, and sturdy boots are essential. Please also pack a rain coat. We'll be fully exposed to the sun and potentially poison ivy.
